Cambodia Prepares Two Provinces to Receive Returning Migrant Workers from Thailand

Phnom Penh: Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, Mr. Vong Sauth has led the inspection of the quarantine sites in Tbong Khmum and Prey Veng provinces where the returning migrant workers from Thailand will be housed. The sites that will be used to check and quarantine the workers are located in Ponhea Krek district and Kamchat Mear district respectively. The inspection was in line with the Prime Minister’s order to secure the safety of the returning migrant workers while eight provinces bordering Thailand are temporarily closed.

MoSVY’s Minister has appealed to the people to be extremely careful against the Covid-19, especially the Delta variant. He says, “The virus has no appearance, no smell, no shadow and no color. It is the most dangerous and contagious if we neglect it in a single minute.” He has instructed the authorities of Ponhea Krek district to prepare a site for the construction of the site and a number of equipment to properly receive the returning migrant workers.

Mr. Vong Sauth has also urged all citizens and civil servants whether vaccinated or not to pay more attention to the precautionary measures set by the Ministry of Health such as the 3 do’s and 3 don’t’s. Apart from inspecting the site, the minister of the MoSVY has also donated $12, and $10 boxes of alcohol to the medical workers in the vaccination site in the district.
